I don’t really smile in these things but it’s been a great day so far. Finished my 3 week class today. First week I hated it but then I realized I would be done in 3 weeks with 3 credits out of the way. And the professor was so awesome. Definitely an easy A. Killed the midterm and final. Now just 4 more weeks for this other class to be over and its only twice a week. I usually sleep in the student center after this class but my final was moved to 9:30, which let me sleep in, and it is such an awesome day to waste inside.
Yay mittens. Best time to get gear. Orinally priced at $60 copped for $25. I’ll get to wear them in like 8 months lol.
I’ve been running 5km runs at least twice a week. I plan on running an official 5k this summer. This is my best time so far. Every day is training day.
What drives you?
A simple question with complex answers. I enjoy looking at what drives individuals, especially athletes. I have watched a bunch of documentary style videos to get a look behind the scenes of some athletes. Recently these videos include UFC’s In the Moment: Jon Jones, Shaun White: Project X by Red Bull, HBO’s 24/7 and many more. I like to see how much work they put in before an event. Fighters need a lot of physical training to prepare for their next fight. But not only physical training but mental. They need to train a mental game in striking and anticipating their opponent. I’m not a big fan of Shaun White but he has got a lot of skill on the mountain. He has trained in order to push the sport to the next level. Most of the times in athletes I have found that their motivation is the chase for perfection. To be better an athlete all around. Even when they get knocked down to get back up and keep going. Take for example Kevin Pearce he was on his way to possibly take down Shaun White but due to an accident and injury he was eliminated. He is now back on a snowboard pushing to get better.
I know I’m not on the same stage as those athletes but I have learned to push myself. Be a better athlete. I like surprising myself. Watching those individuals pushes me to be better. I don’t know random rant to get more insight of me. I work hard physically.
